At Orderup, our focus is our food.

Why do we do pizzas, tacos, and burgers? Simple. All three are “classic” foods. Foods with a history behind them.

We start with the classics, but we elevate them. We make all of our food fresh from our own recipes, and use only the best ingredients. Like hand-pressed patties and buns toasted with butter for our burgers. Our own sauce and fresh basil on our pizzas. A special-recipe marinade for our chicken tacos. As for our gelatos, pralines, and chocolate chip cookies — we make them all in house.

In the 1960s, author John Steinbeck gave this critique of the American restaurant landscape:

“Can I say that the America I saw has put cleanliness first, at the expense of taste? . . . If this people has so atrophied its taste buds as to find tasteless food not only acceptable but desirable, what of the emotional life of the nation?” 1
